I would recommend Windemere Apartment Homes. I have lived at this community for 10 months. The staff has been great from the office staff to the maintenance technicians. The maintenance technicians come out on the same day they even leave a note for you with a :-). Apartments are located right off of 440 so easy access to anywhere in Raleigh.

I don't actually live here, but I toured, and I can definitely say that the actual apartments are not nearly as nice as the pictures on the internet would lead you to believe. The appliances were so old they had turned yellow, and the landscaping was rough. The apartments are also smaller than they appear in the pictures, and the amenities were sort of dingy. The pool reminds me of a pool that you would see at a motel.

I lived here for a year and absolutely loved it. I never had any issues with neighbors or management, and work orders were always fixed same day. I thought management and maintenance staff were very friendly, and I loved having the pool and fitness center right there for my convenience. The apartment was a nice size for just me and my cat, the rent was very reasonable, and the location is right off of both Glenwood and near 440 so you can get to just about anywhere in Raleigh quickly. I loved staying here!

My husband and I lived at Windemere for four years and I have to say it was a wonderful experience. The community was quite, well kept, and friendly. Employees at the main office and the maintenance team were great to work with and were always checking with us in passing that everything was still going good with our apartment. The few times we had to put in a work request, it was taken care of as soon as possible. Would definitely rent here again!

I've lived here for a year and a half, and the new management is so unhelpful, that I actually broke my lease more than 6 months early because I can't deal anymore. When I first moved in, the management was great, and I loved the place! They were always helpful and responsive in a timely manner. Ever since new management took over, service has been terrible. I've had multiple infestations to the point where I have to call every week for pest control just to keep infestations low. Also, multiple infestations too. When you report your issues (like I did with the rodents) they don't try to solve the root of the problem. Ever maintenance said the rats are in the walls. They put a "band aid" on the issues. Instead, they just set out traps and don't try to stop the source (the entry place of the rodents). Not only that, my a/c went out in the summer, and instead of replacing my god knows how old a/c unit, they simply poured Freon in the unit...yet again, another temporary fix. Also, at one point, I had to send 4 written email requests within a time span of 4 days asking for my packages to be dropped off in my apartment since my work schedule does not cooperate with the office hours. I never received my packages until I had to leave work early on the fifth day to physically pick them up myself. Their excuse was that the package drop off is a "courtesy" and not a right. Although, whenever I called the old management to drop off my packages, it was never an issue. My advice, the apartments are completely overpriced for what you actually receive. Old appliances that are more than 20 years old, terrible management that doesn't live up to their pricing, and terrible infestation issues. There are much more affordable apartment options in Raleigh that offer WAY more for WAY less..hence, the reason I'm leaving.

I've been living in a 1 bedroom here for almost six months. Living on the top floor has been awesome since there are vaulted ceilings in all of the rooms. The one downside is that the washer/dryer is very small and don't work very well. Otherwise, I've loved living here. Everyone in the office is super nice and take care of your packages when you're not home. The neighborhood itself is in a super convenient location right off of Glenwood, so you'll be very close to the Crabtree mall and downtown. It's also a very pet friendly community and a great spot to walk your dog.

So far so good. I have only lived there a short while, but so far everything is fine. There were a few issues at move in, but the maintenance guy took care of them very quickly. I really like the vaulted ceiling in my apartment. The layout make it a little hard to lay out your furniture, but for the price andarea it is worth it. Very quiet and I love that.

I lived here for 2 years, one on the bottom floor apartments with a roommate, and one in the "penthouse" apartments on the top. Both were great. The layout of these apartments is a bit different, and probably gives you a few less square feet than average, but the amenities, vaulted ceilings, and neighborhood more than make up for it. It was great coming home from work at night, and driving by that small pond in the front, and it was even better in the summer to hear frogs croaking. The entire neighborhood is small, well kept, and charming. Every apartment comes with a built in washer and dryer, ice maker, disposal, and deck area, and the monthly rent is still so low... Other amenities are also smaller than average, but they are what you make of them. I worked out in the gym every other evening, and spent weekends at the pool when it was open. I should mention that the office staff is amazing, particularly Andrea, who managed the property (and may still be). Always friendly, proffesional, and kind hearted. Maintenance requests were also handled with lightning speed. I loved living there, and recommend it to anyone who's looking for quiet evenings in a nice neighborhood on a budget. Jason
