Staff was very nice and they were always available to help when needed., as was the maintenance man. Apartment 74 however, had a pervasive stench of mold for the entire 6 month lease. Upon initial move in the smell was masked by the fresh paint. Within days that smell went away and the mildew smell was apparent. When the issue was brought to management attention, they indicated it was just "sewer venting smell from the drains." Most people know what sewer smells like and what mildew smells like, and this was mildew. Now, having moved out, every single thing that cannot be washed must be thrown out. A very expensive leather chair needs to be professionally cleaned. The apartment complex is old, and we were aware of that before moving in, but before anyone else moves into Apartment 74 or any other apartment at Escondido, I suggest you check it out thoroughly first. As I mentioned before, staff was very nice, but my 1 star rating is due to the major mildew issue. Escondido ownership: Please find where the issue is coming from and fix it properly so that no other renter has to endure it. It would not be fair to them.
