Nacogdoches is situated in the aptly named Nacogdoches County. It has estimated population of about 33,000 people. It is home to Stephen F. Austin State University. Seeing as this area is a smaller area of Texas and there is the traditional influx of students in the spring and fall, you want to make sure you search for your apartment a few months before each of these semesters. Keep an eye out for graduation times as that will be when a large portion of the student body leaves the area.
Check with the student life advisor at the college to see if they know of any housing units becoming available. You want to find a unit early and apply as soon as possible. The sooner you get your application completed and turned in the better your chances are of getting the unit.
Having reliable transportation would be ideal. Of course with being a smaller ton you may find biking as a great alternative to get around town. For those that don't have transportation of their own the area does have public transportation. They list a schedule online of bus times.
