Summary

Como is a student-dominated neighborhood about a mile north of the University of Minnesota (East Bank). Although it’s a bit of a hike to campus, the #3 bus line provides easy transportation to downtown Minneapolis, all of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campuses, and St. Paul. Housing in Como is largely bungalows and early 20th century homes, with some more modern complexes and duplexes thrown in for good measure. The feel is decidedly residential, ideal for a student who wants some space between home and campus.

Minneapolis rent prices decreased over the last month. From February to March, the city experienced a -1.3% decrease for the price of a one-bedroom apartment. The rent price for a Minneapolis one-bedroom apartments currently stands at $1,364.0.

Rent growth in Minneapolis over the past year has been declining. When compared to major cities nearby, along with some of the most expensive cities in the country, Minneapolis rent prices appear to be relatively affordable for local residents.

The price for a Minneapolis one-bedroom apartment remains vastly more affordable than four of the largest cities in the United States — New York City, Washington, D.C. San Francisco and Los Angeles. And pricing compares quite similarly to nearby Midwest cities.
