Although I have only lived in my apartment for a few months, I thoroughly love it here! The management team is prompt to respond to maintenance requests and are very nice and reasonable. If you want to live on the west side of Madison it is a great choice! My deciding factors were: *gas heat (not sure if in all apartments) *stacked washer/dryer in apartment *dishwasher *recently renovated apartments and designated underground parking *spot with storage (slightly dirty, but cleaned occasionally)

Me and the fiance have lived at Sauk Creek Apartments for almost 2 years now and are moving into our first house (one of the only reasons we would leave) in a few weeks. In our time there, we have never experienced a problem that wasnt handled quickly and efficiently by management and maintenance staff (e.g. water hammer arrester for dishwasher needing to be replaced, closet door runner being adjusted, etc). The new(ish) property manager, Jessica, has been very easy to work with and responsive to questions and issues that we have had. Additionally, and mirroring other reviews (both positive and negative) the grounds are very well maintained and the neighbors are friendly and keep to themselves. I cant say that the issues Ive seen flagged in other reviews (pests, mold, heavy-handed management, etc) have ever been a problem for us during our time as tenants at Sauk Creek. Views from the covered balcony (we installed icicle lighting) below, which was always pleasant to have coffee and breakfast on in the morning and/or have a beer and read on in the evening. I would heartily recommend renting at Sauk Creek Apartments its quiet, the neighborhood is safe and has many amenities (our building is adjacent to Sauk Creek Park), the neighbors are pleasant, and its a great value when comparing rents in most other parts of the city (we lived on the Isthmus before moving West).

We absolutely love the Sauk Creek Apartments. The layout and spacious rooms are what sold us on selecting these apartments, along with how well the grounds are maintained in both summer and winter. We are extremely happy with the management. Both the manager and maintenance staff go above and beyond all our expectations. They get the job done very efficiently and effectively with their great knowledge of everything in the unit. Everyone is professional and really caring for the well being of their tenants. We could not ask for a better, more comfortable place to live. Many thanks for all the time and efforts the staff put into making this an excellent place to call home.

Great location, private neighborhood, well maintained landscaping and sidewalks. Very pretty trees and lots of songbirds visit our feeder. Hallways and garage are well maintained, and the spacious apartment we have is an excellent value per square foot. Not many amenities, but that probably keeps rent costs down. I have my own gym membership and I don't need a pool, so this is great. Have been very happy here in our first year. Haven't had too many maintenance requests, but they were all handled very quickly.

Decent place, slowly being renovated. Have to disagree with the other poster. Sauk Creek Apartments has been a great place to live. Decent sized apartments. Are they perfect, no, but for the location the price is about where it should be. If you want amenities like a pool, or fitness center, then pay an extra 2-300 a month and move into another complex. The staff has always been helpful and prompt, save a few hiccups, but nothing ridiculous. Management is fine and the actual owner cares about his property. They are slowly working on improvements, but to have the most modern apartments would require paying significantly more each month, so check out surrounding properties and see. I did, and Sauk Creek offered the best deal. Maintenance handles the cleaning of the halls which are usually immaculate at all times. Garage is kept clean and clutter free. Noise is rarely a problem, never hear neighbors talking or tvs, never in the four years I've lived here in 3 different apartments. The fact that they are always at capacity says a lot about the place. Once in awhile, I might here my current upstairs neighbors if they are really banging things around on the floor, but that is part of living on the first floor. I talked to them and they are very considerate about not disturbing us which takes quite a bit of effort to achieve anyway, so problem was solved. I have always lived in places people seem to complain about it , and I never have a major problem that isn't dealt with promptly and am always treated with respect. I presume that is because I am a respectful tenant. You don't use your washer dryer when not home out of respect for the property, ie if the water hose bursts or dryer fire starts. Not that big a deal to use it when home, not that they would know if you did anyway. I wouldn't do it in a personal home, why would I do it here? -Frank
