I lived in the 1st floor apartment and it has been very pleasant to live in. The apartment has all the little nice-to-haves: dishwasher, laundry in-unit, large kitchen, gas range, hardwood floors, lots of space, ample storage, lots of natural light (even though its a 1st floor apartment), porch (two), yard space in the back, granite countertop, double sink, parking space, cats allowed. This is by far the best value I've found for living downtown Madison with all the extras is has (dishwasher, laundry, parking). Earl, the property manager, is nice, helpful, responsive to any maintenance requests, and makes it easy to pay rent. He takes good care of the property and has kept the apartment updated. Even though it is not one of the brand new apartment complexes it still has most of the amenities; granite countertop, doublewide sink with a handy faucet, a gas range, recently refinished hardwood floors, and just before I moved in he replaced the washing machine as it was older and small. One thing I was surprised by was how quiet the neighborhood is. I've lived in 4 different areas downtown and this is (or very close to) the quietest one. Every place has its own quirks for this apartment it would be the bathroom, it's on the smaller side.

Such a nice apartment!! Cleanest apartment I have ever moved into and my standards are pretty high. Hard wood floors that are kept in excellent condition. Landlord is very helpful and will come right away if anything needs fixing. You can tell he really cares about the building and his tenants which is extremely hard to find in Madison.
