The only thing I hate about living here is the yearly rent increase.. Knowing eventually you'll be priced out and you'll have to move :(

My three stars are strictly about location, NOT about service. This apartment is located at Rodeo and LaBrea. It is VERY convenient to metro (bus and train) lines. I have lived here since the 1990s and only stay because my rent is affordable and it is conveniently located. The good: location, location, location. Also, the people in the neighborhood are very friendly (I am specifically speaking about long time residents in the Bali Apartments, Gloria Homes and surrounding neighborhood. I am NOT speaking about new comers or gentrifiers. These people are rude and distant.) I LOVE my neighborhood and go for early morning walks and everyone (the OGs of the neighborhood, smile and speak and it feels good living here). I also know everyone who works at Ralph's. It feels good living in a community of happy people (again, not the gentrifiers). The bad: nothing really, except for the trash that neighborhood people leave outside and it is very noisy in this neighborhood. The new comers and the gentrifiers. They act like they don't want to engage people who have lived here...they act as if they are better. But, this has nothing to do with the apartment complex, but it changes the dynamics of the community feeling. The ugly. The UGLIEST part of living here is the Gloria Homes staff. They are rude, condescending, distant, aloof and horrible. Plain horrible. They have set rules in place that are NOT good for basic living. A tenant cannot, I repeat a tenant CANNOT have a rental car to park in their OWN parking space. If you are in an accident or have a rental car because your mechanic gives you a loaner, you CANNOT park it safely in your space. You must park it on the street. Like, who does this? It makes no sense. They will TOW YOUR CAR and TOW YOUR RENTAL CAR for the littlest thing. It is as if they want to make their tenants unhappy. BUT, they let security and vendors park wherever they want to park and their cars, trucks nor vans will be towed nor ticketed. Long term tenants, folks who have lived here for 15+ years are not treated with any loyalty. Our apartments are not updated nor do they check to see if we need anything or make sure our apartments are upgraded. They used to do this in the 1990s, each year you would get an upgrade. No longer! The heating units are old, they don't/won't change the carpet nor do they paint. They ONLY work on the outside of the buildling to make it look nice, but neglect the interior. Every tenant that has lived here for over 10 years should have the new upgrades that they install for the new tenants. Shameful!

Leasing office staff can be very rude, which seems to be the consensus amongst many tenants. Customer service definitely needs to improve among so many others things i.e Parking, Visitor Hours, etc. How about some appreciation for long-standing tenants? SMH

I have lived in their building off Coliseum St. since last Halloween and couldn't be happier. The people are great that live around me onto of begin warm and tolerant to each other whenever 'life' happens as it tends to do from time to time. I live in the one bedroom on the second floor with a view to the 'crazy back alley' out my bathroom and bedroom window to remind me whenever I look out it why it was that I started referring to it as' "The crazy back alley out my bedroom window." Which is my humorous way of putting a label on the funny stuff that tends to play out daily in the alley. I don't ever hear noise from outside or my neighbors during the day or night and haven't had one complaint against me for the same, including when I work out in the morning and stomp around like a dinosaur with kettle bells. Apparently I'm as quiet as a mouse and that's alright with me! The only complaint I would give is to the heat these boxes can keep in during the late afternoon but rather then complain I handled it with a portable AC unit and a sigh of relief that it's still chugging along this well in August. Anybody who tries to speak about the neighborhood being unsafe hasn't walked outside with an open mind and smile on their face. This is coming from a guy who moved here from Brentwood of all places; West Los Angeles for those around here who've never even heard of it since OJ's been out of the news for so long now. If a white guy from Brentwood can walk outside and feel safe...what's that say about you? Call me crazy but plan on my response being followed up by the same feeling a rock being thrown at your head would feel like after hitting it directly in the part where the skull is the thickest. Quickly following its bouncing off that thick head which is now covered in your brow's sweat and reaking of cheap dollar store cologne is when it will rest. You'd be crazy if you are willing to stand behind any amount of stars less then a number that looks like a five. Or there is the good possibility you're not able to make enough coin to pay those bills and instead of taking responsibility for your failures in life you'd rather take the chance to enable yourself to do it again by holding the stars in yourself. The Coliseum St apartments are rock solid and for the time being a great bang for your buck as gentrification is in full swing... Until it isn't and these places will be no different then a loft in Westwood. Just give it time.

Ive lived here for 3 years now. I don't see myself moving out anytime soon. This place is a gem compared to most apartments in Los Angeles. I'm lucky to...
