The best train system in the region, Metra Rail, rides through Lisle. Unfortunately this is a couple miles away from Benedictine, so students aren’t able to walk to it every day. But they can grab a PACE bus that conveniently circles from the campus to the train station. The PACE buses can also take you to nearby Naperville, where some students live or go to hang out on weekend nights. And most significantly, they can also transport you around Lisle to commute. If you don’t have a vehicle, I’d encourage hopping on the PACE. Anytime you look for an apartment in a Chicago suburban area you have to adjust your expectations accordingly. If Lisle was located just thirty miles to the west the prices would be much cheaper. But as a suburb, the average price of an apartment here is around $1300, which is calculated based on two bedroom rentals. These costs stay pretty consistent in nearby areas like Naperville, Woodridge, and Downers Grove. But just think that if you lived closer to Chicago these rates would be even higher. In the end, paying six or seven hundred per month isn't too bad.
