I have been here for two years now and have renewed for a third. I have had a wonderful experience. They have friendly, responsive staff, and fantastic maintenance crew. They have recently gotten a new general manager who is really taking the initiative to make this apartment complex even better. This is absolutely the best place to live for students. The only downside is the distance from campus, but it isn't a huge issue when there is the free shuttle.

I lived at Hawks Ridge for 2 years while I attended UIowa and I absolutely loved it. There were always events to bring the community together, the amenities are absolutely wonderful and my unit was amazing. Very clean, very modern and maintenance was always on time when I had issues.

I honestly love it here. Despite all the bad reviews, I have encountered great help within the hawks Ridge office, as well as attentiveness from all staff including maintenance. I feel like this place gets a bad rep from people due to the pure entitlement of those living here. Rent can be considered costly, but my apartment is beautiful and way better than living in some broken down house in the middle of downtown. Plus, all utilities are included and I have a pet as well as a parking spot UNDERGROUND. Coming from Chicago, a place of snow, I appreciate the security of not having to shovel my car off daily. I enjoy the distance from campus, its out of the way of traffic and congested downtown area, yet still provides a bus in order to get from point A to point B. People expect to move into an apartment and get 5 star hotel service, which is completely unrealistic. In order to be treated nicely, maybe people should try being NICE to the staff here in order to be treated with respect back. They get treated terrible and people wonder why they dont want to help you, its a joke. Just wanted to give this place a good review because everyone has so much negative to say, but I love living here.

I think that this is a huge upgrade from where I was living. I had to leave the house that I was renting off of Dubuque Street due to safety concerns and these guys were quite accommodating and said that I could move in the next day and they gave me a month of free rent and they didn't charge me a deposit. That all helps when you have to move last minute because of an unsafe living situation. I was annoyed that they weren't ready for me when I showed up the next day but they assigned me a room within an hour. My room hadn't been cleaned from the last person and I had to put in a work order straight away for the shower but that's minor stuff. My favorite part is getting to take the elevator to the parking garage. I work overnights and I'm tickled to get to walk to my Jeep in a lit and safe garage and I am looking forward to not having to scrape windows this winter or scurry to move my vehicle when it hails. When you are used to parking outside on the street, you treasure parking garages. I love that we have Wi-Fi. I am a student and I like to watch movies and I enjoy fiddling with my phone. At my last place, I ran everything off of my phone's data and now, I barely use data. The chairs in the living room are comfy and it's a big TV that connects to the internet. Our dishwasher/garbage disposal stinks and we haven't been able to fix the problem and neither has maintenance. The kitchen is small but that's not a huge deal. We make it work. My bedroom is comfortable and it's twice the size of where I used to live with better lighting and plenty of outlets and it's usually dark enough and quiet enough for me to sleep during the day. Our bathroom is tiny and dark and the tub gets clogged but it's cleaner than my last place and I like having a sink in my room. I like taking the trash out by going to a garbage chute. I have gotten used to walking to dumpsters. I do my laundry here and it doesn't cost any more than anywhere else that I have lived but the first two dryers don't work. I do laundry all of the time. I think that the great room is beautiful but I don't really use it. I was excited about the free printers but they don't work. I am eager to ride the shuttle. I haven't tried it yet but it goes to The University, Kirkwood, and The Ped Mall. I like are cute, little mail house and how they email me when I have a package. I feel like my mail is quite secure. Every day, I stop in to get my free coffee. The coffee area has like 100 options and it's all free, so that makes me happy! When I first moved in, there were a lot of free snacks and that was fun too. They have free water bottles, sunglasses, and lip-balm in the office and we had a grill-out with free food and they handed out free shirts, water bottles, and sunglasses. There's a jacuzzi that I haven't tried and there's a truly gorgeous, 2-story gym that I haven't tried yet. I am anxious about this hill come winter but it has to be doable. I get along with my roommates. I have met a few of my neighbors. One of my coworkers lives here. They give you $500 when you recommend this place. I like being off of Highway 1 because it makes things convenient. I also like being close to Walmart and BP. It's just super convenient. Plus, this place is pet-friendly, so there are always pretty doggies outside and who doesn't like seeing those?

The staff is friendly and helps when you have issues. Being pet friendly is nice and while the location is farther from campus than I'd like the fact it's close to Walmart and aldis is arguably more important to someone who doesn't have a car as a bus runs about every 20 minutes downtown...

I've been living here for over a year now, and I have to say my experience here has been great. The staff is warm and welcoming to all patrons, and are willing to work with you and go out of their way to make your stay here everything you want it to be. The staff even takes the time to try to remember the names of all the residents here making evert interaction with very pleasant and memorable. There are monthly events that occur that make staying here fun and exciting, and help you to get to know the other people living here as well. Hawks Ridge is pet friendly which makes for a great time because everyone here enjoys their presence. The quality of living here is great, the rent is reasonable, and there's never a dull day. I've come to view Hawks Ridge as a secondary home, and the staff has even become something of a secondary family.

I'm living at Hawks Ridge and it's been awesome so far. The shuttle service is great, and I love using the fitness area. They just upgraded their wifi, too!

I have loved this place since I moved in back in January 2013. Everyone is super friendly here and its so clean. I always see housekeeping in the halls making sure its vacuumed and it smells good. I have never had a problem with maintenance they always get my problem fixed usually the same day or the day after. Overall this had been my favorite place to live in Iowa City!
