Update 3/29/2018: I can still happily recommend Mt.Vernon. They go above and beyond to help which is not something I can say about many places let alone apartment complexes. The staff is always willing to help, the complex is quiet, and the apartments are more than enough space to meet my our needs. ----- Original Post: I highly recommend Mt. Vernon apartments. Essentially from the day we viewed the property, through signing the lease, and now 2 weeks in we have been extremely pleased. Melissa and Ben have been very kind and helpful with everything from payments to maintenance requests and everywhere in between. The entire team is hard working from what I've seen and willing to stop what there doing and listen if ever something should arise. Location to campus is excellent and it's very quiet pretty much all the time which makes it great for my fiance who is a PhD student and myself who is a working professional. Thanks for everything thus far, Mt.Vernon team!

I was unsure about this property when I signed by lease but it was crunch time and I needed to find a place to live. Since moving in Melissa, the property manager, has been AMAZING. I couldn't make it to the office to pick up keys so she left them at my apartment. During Hurricane Irma, my 1st floor apartment flooded and she was on the ball. She set up for the vinyl floor in my living room to be redone and bedroom carpet be professionally steam cleaned. Jon, the maintenance supervisor is WONDERFUL as well! With my OCD I find the craziest and pickiest request but he always gets them done in a timely manner with a smile. Ben, the leasing consultant, is forever cheerful and knows my voice when I call the office. He never has to ask for my name or apartment number. I love Mt Vernon Apartments more than I thought I ever would. If you're on edge about renting here, I say go for it!! They really make you feel welcomed and want to make a home!

I cannot sing Mount Vernon Apartments praises enough. From day one when I started my application remotely, I've had an amazing experience with this apartment complex. It was a so smooth process! I was able to finish all the details even before I arrived in Gainesville. After lived here for a while, I can tell you that I love living here for a multitude of reasons. The most important one is that the Leasing Consultant Mitchell and Leasing Manager Melissa are by far the friendliest and kindest staff members I have met in my past seven years in the United States. They are all very dependable and fast responsive. They really take care of what you need. Also, the complex grounds are well kept, and maintenance is very good. It is very quiet during both daytime and evening, and I guess it is because most of residents here are senior students in Medical or Dental school or Professional employees in UF Health. Also, we have a policy officer lives right in this complex with his shinny police car parked in a very visible place. Third, the location of this apartment is excellent! It takes me only 3 min driving to the UF Shands, and 2 min to the pretty Lake Alice. I would strongly recommend this apartment complex to anyone interested living in the UF Health areas. The complex also has a very nice layout with a fantastic and always clean pool in the middle of the complex. The trees with blooming flowers in front of these white buildings are also a major plus for me! Definitely come and check out Mount Vernon Apartments.

I lived here for about a year and have had an excellent experience. For the few minor things I needed done, they took care of it swiftly and professionally. They aim to put their residents first, and always seem to "make it happen." The location is ideally a 3 to 10 minute bus ride using the many bus routes that pass by. I used to take the 9, 12, 35, and 36 to campus and would often stop at the HUB, Marston, or the Reitz. If I ever needed to rent out an apartment again, I would not hesitate to check out Mount Vernon for a second run. Some helpful tips: the majority of residents here are either serious graduate students (dental, medical, vet. , law, etc) or young professionals. With this said, the community is nice and quiet. Also, the first two weeks of school bus 9 tends to be full. Do yourself the favor and get up an extra 10-15 minutes early to take an earlier bus.

The customer service here is excellent, especially the maintenance. You can put in a request and they usually come around that day. If it's an emergency, they'll be there in minutes. The buildings are old, but they were recently redone and look great, inside and out. Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. You also can't beat the location if you are a student. It is right on Archer Road, just off campus. I definitely recommend living here.
