I have lived at The Village for a few years now and have seen the different management styles they have undergone. The old managers ran this place into the ground, but the changes they have made over the past year are why I renewed again. When I first moved in here, there was a trash problem and I was worried about security... but they changed the lights out so it is bright in the parking lot and their security are so much better. I'm a server so most of the time I don't get off work until late and I always see the security guards walking around. They always make me feel safe. With the trash, they have valley trash which is BOMB. I noticed there are so many pest reviews but I have never had a problem. They come and spray my apartment every week. The managers and the other employees always remember me and my dog by name! I have read so many of these reviews and LOLed because most of it is their own fault.

I LOVE the new staff that's working at the Village at Columbia! The place used to be horrible because the staff literally did not care about their residents and all my friends told me not to live here again but things have changed for the better!! Cat, one the customer service specialists, has been especially helpful plus she's very sweet and even remembers my dog by name every time we come into the office for a package or coffee. I love living here now and am soooo glad it's a safer and nicer place to live.

I can honestly say that even though people slam this place with negatives its not at all a bad place to live. So much, I renewed my lease after hearing other horror stories from students living in student housing in the area. You have to realize what they are dealing with on a daily basis. From the time I have moved in until now I can honestly see the place has cleaned up a lot maybe new management? Im not sure, but there are new bright lights in the parking lots and always workers fixing things up. The people in the office are always friendly despite being so busy. They really try to make your experience as pleasant as possible. For example, I had a trash issues with a neighbor and it was taken care of more then once. I received emails and even texts to make sure of this. Maintence does there very best to fix anything you have wrong. Ive had a fridge fixed, AC and my sink in my kitchen all in such a timely manner (next day) which is amazing. I believe Mike? is the assistant manager of the office and if you encounter him hes so friendly. Ive even seen him walking around picking up trash. He genuinely cares about this place and has even let me in my place at 1030 at night after locking myself out. People complain about the leases, but they outline everything so if you ACTUALLY read it youd have known. Also wanna give a shout out to Devin in the office! Anytime you go in he knows you by name and will go above and beyond to accommodate you. Overall, great place to live for the price and the amenities are honestly endless!

This place has easily become the best student living complex in Columbia this year! The staff is so awesome and always going the extra mile, they have the best resident events, and are constantly catering meals/snacks! Also major shout out to Brandon in the office, he genuinely cares about the residents and tries to make the villages the best they can be!!!

I lived at the Village for a year before moving to a house and I loved every day of it! The community is so welcoming and friendly. The events the staff put on for the residents are always a blast and I met so many people. Definitely would live there again in the future!

I moved into the Village in August of 2017. When I signed a lease they told me I would get an Apple TV but they were currently out and would call me when they had more in. I never got a call from them and it took me calling 3 times (weeks apart) for them to finally have one for me. This was not a big deal to me but just want to give the full experience I had. When I moved in, my apartment was disgusting. It was very evident that it had not been cleaned. I was very upset about this because I had asked if I could move in early due to obligations for organizations I was involved in but they said I couldn't because they would be deep cleaning my apartment. There was a huge issue with pest control not coming out for 6 weeks after we had complained and put in multiple maintenance requests. They kept telling us they would come to our apartment but didn't for 6 weeks. My bathroom door frame was clearly chewed up by a dog before I moved in and it wasn't fixed which is not a huge deal but kind of gross. The living room blinds were also chewed up and not replaced before we moved in. I received a random roommate in February, which is fine, but the staff assured me that if there were ANY issues at all to let them know and they would be handled. I let them know that there were clear signs of illegal activity going on in the apartment and they said they would handle it after contacting all of the appropriate management parties. I was given a call a few days later to tell me there was nothing they could do for me and that my only option was to call the police. I didn't want my roommate to face legal actions I just wanted the illegal activity to stop. They had previously told me ANY issues would be handled but when I stated an issue that was not the case. Even after I sent them proof nothing was done. They said we would have a roommate mediation but then never followed up about setting up a time. The apartments are beautiful and very spacious for the price but the lack of support from the management team really left a bad impression for me. I don't think that I asked for much from them just that I lived in a home that I felt safe and comfortable in. I ended up moving out early but I was still required to pay my rent just not utilities for the time I was not there.

Ive stayed at the village for a year and i renewed my lease and got a really good deal and they are waiving my utility fees. Maintenance comes at least the next day when you put in a request if not the same day, only bad thing is how much overage utilities are but mine are waived for next year. I love the village and dont ever have problems with anything!!!

Beautiful living, very friendly and great place to live. Only issue is the finessing they do with the utilities and expenses.. It really doesn't make any sense compared to the prices other apartments nearby.

We have setup a book buyback station twice in the last 6 months here and we can honestly say the staff is above and beyond professional, friendly and even sometimes goofy (in the best way)! Can't wait to do more events in the future!!!

My daughter has lived at The Village for almost 3 years. She has thoroughly enjoyed her experience and the staff has always addressed any problems that may arise in a timely manner. She has never had a security issue and we have peace of mind knowing they have a great new security team and police officers living on site. The maintenance team has always been great and I highly recommend The Village.

i have really enjoyed living at the village the past two years. they have great amenities. i use the workout room almost everyday and i'm really going to miss it when i have to leave because of graduating. the people here are really nice and always speak when walking in and out of the clubhouse. its also great that its away from the noises in the city and you don't really hear the trains like you would living on campus.

I have lived in The Village for 3 years. I love the community and the clubhouse and amenities are great! The apartments are spacious, stylish, and the walk in closest are a plus. The staff are all extremely friendly and the maintenance crew is very nice and fixes things in a timely manner. The shuttle to campus is super convenient and the drivers are really sweet. The apartments are a decent size and the walk in closets are awesome. At night there are security guards who drive around the apartment complex which makes residents feel safer. Overall, The Village is a great place for a college student to live. It is not very close to campus but the bus and amenities make up for the distance.

Ive had a great first year living here at The Village. The price is great for the apartments that you get, as well as amenities. The staff at The Village is always willing to help with problems and maintenance always gets back to me within a couple of days. I will most definitely be resigning my lease for second year.

Over the past couple of years I have enjoyed living in the Villages but I am about to graduate and it is time to move on. It is in a great location for football games and going out on the town as well as not too far from campus either. There are many amenities such as washer and dryer or even a dish washer. I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of affordable living in a fun college atmosphere!

I love the village! Rooms are spacious and the appliances and amenities are great never had an issue with anything in the apartment. The staff at the office are all nice and caring. The clubhouse always has free food or events going on and they are always handing out free merch! I've never had a problem with insects and any issues we have had in our apartment (like our electronic key battery dying) the maintenance staff fixed it in no time. I have lived here for three years of my undergrad and don't regret it one bit. Definitely a great place to check out and live!

The Village has many amenities that I enjoy having access to. They are always giving away free food for residents, and are always nice when you need anything. The rooms are very spacious with lots of storage, and the kitchen is very large. The times that I have put in a maintenance order, they have fixed the issue as soon as possible. I have enjoyed my stay so far at the Village!

The apartments themselves are really nice and they do have a nice clubhouse and pool (when its clean). HOWEVER maintenance is a complete disaster. We sent in MULTIPLE requests for necessities to get fixed including our dryer, microwave, and most importantly, our door-lock and we have yet to get any of it fixed. We continue to call and complain and they say "we'll be there in 30 minutes" and here we are 3 weeks later and they still haven't come. Also we heard gunshots in the middle of the night and saw the feds drive by our house and we told them the next morning and THEY IGNORED US. Oh and when we moved in, our place was disgusting and one of my roommates didn't have a bed and we didn't have any furniture in the living room. We called them and they came in and brought the stuff in and cleaned it after about 8 hours after they said they would, but it should've already been done. Most likely not living here again next year. $600 a month plus utilities for this bs? NOT WORTH IT!

True be told! I would renew my lease for another year but the only thing that is stopping me from not renewing is. 1. The neighbors upstairs don't do nothing but run up and down the steps. 2. I came home from work and found nothing but dog poop in front my door. 3. It took them almost 3 month's to fix my mailbox key. The Village is a great place to live! I can give them that. I didn't have ANY problems with bugs or insects in my apartment at all. So if anyone be put in the apartment that I'm in for next year of AUGUST 2018, you will love the inside of it! Oh and make sure you keep your account current and at zero and management won't bother you with endless emails. They will also CHARGE YOU TEN DOLLARS AND YES I SAID TEN DOLLARS TO PAY YOUR RENT ONLINE! And pay attention to your neighbors because they will PUT THEY TRASH IN YOUR TRASH BIN IN FONT YOUR DOOR BECAUSE THEY ARE TO LAZY TO PUT THEY OWN TRASH IN THEY OWN BIN. I never saw a bunch of trifling people in my life.

Dante is literally the best person/ human being I've ever met. He really needs a raise. He has worked out so many of my problems it amazing. The only reason I'm leaving a review is because of him. I am blessed to have Dante in my life.

I love living here! The Village is on the lower end of cost compared to other student living complexes but you definitely can not tell you walk into my apartment. My apartment is very spacious and I have a huge walk in closet and large bathroom! The maintenance is great and they respond to work orders quickly. LEASE HERE!

I love living at the Woodlands. The amenities are great and maintenance always fixes things in a timely manner. I subtracted a star because the overages are a little ridiculous at times.

I have enjoyed my time leaving at the woodlands. I like that the staff takes the time to make sure their residents are satisfied. I also like that they show their appreciation by having fun activities.

I lived at the Woodlands for 3 years from sophomore to senior year when I was going to Carolina and loved it! It is a great place to be able to get away from campus without being too far from everything (right down from the stadium, close enough to nightlife, etc.) The shuttle was awesome when I figured out my schedule and how it lined up with the shuttle to and from campus, hardly ever had to drive which was nice. It even ran to and from 5 points. How great is that? The staff at the Woodlands was nice from the office staff to maintenance. They all wanted to do a good job and to make the residents happy as best they possibly could. I was amazed to see how well the staff was able to deal with resident issues in the most pleasant way possible and try to make the best solution possible. The units were great. Plenty of room and nice appliances. I lived in a 4 bed room townhouse with dogs and we had a great time. There is plenty of room in the common area with a bar and porch both front and back and the bedrooms are plenty spacious with private bathrooms and walk in closets. Honestly for this being a college apartment complex it was very nice! Everything is well taken care of unless it gets broken and then maintenance is quick to fix whatever it is to get it back into working order. And most definitely a selling point is the pool. After a long day of class or work who doesn't like to come home to a large relaxing pool to relax and even play some volleyball. Sounds like a nice place to me. I would recommend living in the Woodlands to anyone looking for a place to live while going to Carolina.

I lived at The Woodlands for three years during college. I moved in at the beginning of my sophomore year and come the end of senior year I was sad that I had to leave. I absolutely LOVED the staff and everything about my apartment. One of the things that I liked most about The Woodlands was the furnished apartments. I also love the amenities that The Woodlands offers, such as the huge pool, sand volleyball court, on-site parking right at your doorstep, 24/7 gym, and the shuttle to USC campus & Five Points. I am still in the Columbia area but have moved out of The Woodlands ONLY for the fact that my job is in Northeast Columbia and the commute was too long. I would highly recommend this place for students looking for off campus housing!

My Son lived here for 2 years while in college. We were so happy with the experience that he had. I have heard from some of my other friends that they had nightmares dealing with student housing and I just never had these issues with the Woodlands. The apartments are so nice and they come furnished so I didn't have to buy much for him to move in. He loved the pool and the shuttle to campus, also I know that he met a lot of good friends there. I wish we could keep him there for a third year but he is moving out of state for a job. Looking for a safe community with lots of space? This is the place to be!
