This Silvernest listing is for a single room available for rent in an occupied home through a private owner--perfect for those seeking a rental experience that is more affordable and flexible than leasing an entire apartment or home! A cozy brick ranch house with recently upgraded kitchen and picture windows overlooking wooded back lot on dead-end street. Very safe, quiet community built in late 1950s with both young families and retirees. Close to Chamblee and 20 minutes from both downtown Atlanta and Alpharetta. Five minutes from Chamblee MARTA station and 15 minutes from Brookhaven MARTA with extended parking for trips to airport. One and a half miles from Georgetown Shopping Center and I-285. One exit from Perimeter Mall and two exits from Nothside and St. Joseph's hospitals.
I'm a former television writer/producer, talk show host and weekend anchor with a bachelors degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and a published author. You can read the reviews of my novel on Amazon. Now I enjoy teaching English as a second language at the Latin American Association and spent a month on the south coast of Spain last year and made great friends there with whom I Skype every week.
The photo posted on this site was taken in February, 2019. I'm very active, in excellent health and work out on a Total Gym and light weights and walk/jog a mile 3 times a week. I'm drug, tobacco, gambling free and financially sound with a comfortable portfolio and a paid-off brick ranch house on an acre-plus wooded lot in Brookhaven where deer come up from the creek to the salt lick in my backyard.
I love travel, books, movies, theater and trying different kinds of foods, at home or in restaurants, and I'm a pretty good cook.
I treasure a good, entertaining conversation, especially with someone with a sense of humor, and having done hundreds of on-air interviews with the famous and infamous, from politicians and movie stars to the Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, I feel I can talk with anyone about almost anything.
I’ve been single for two years and have about given up on finding a mate. The biggest problem I have now is solitude, and while I do things with friends, I don’t like being alone at night and don’t want to travel by myself. Now I’m thinking that just living with a good friend who has her own life (I cannot live with another man) might be a practical solution. I don’t need someone to take care of me, my daughter is a hospice nurse. I just need some with whom I can have great conversations about politics, movies, books, shows and even perhaps take that trip to Iceland with me that I’ve been dying to take since I saw a documentary about it. I’m a good companion and can be a caring and decent friend. I’ve just joined Silvernest so I don’t know what to expect, but if any of this interests you I’d be happy to meet you for coffee or a glass of wine.
