Outside of winter this town boasts warm temperatures. Winter months can get a bit chilly and natural you can expect snow which generally falls at an estimated 88 inches per season. This amazing destination is the perfect combination of city and country living.

Boulder has the GO Boulder public transpiration system that can easily transport you around town. In addition when the weather is nice there are numerous bikeways that can be used. The town states that biking is one of the best way to get around town. Naturally there are taxis when needed. A vehicle is recommended if you move towards the outskirts of town.

Where to play

Nature lovers will find the Boulder area a haven for outdoor lovers. With hiking trails and the vast landscape available, this area is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy what the world has to offer. In addition there are some great golf courses available. Downtown Boulder boasts a variety of nightlife activities making this town ideal for people from all walks of life.

Attractions

Boulder is a beautiful city, and most of the attractions in the area take the form of particularly spectacular parts of the local landscape. However, if you're looking to view some man-made attractions, the University of Colorado at Boulder is well worth a stop. When it comes to outdoor attractions Chautauqua Park certainly reigns supreme. The beautiful thing about this park is that it offers something for everyone. If you want to challenge yourself with a difficult hike, you have the ability to do so. On the other hand, if you'd just like to relax and read a book while looking at some of the most beautiful scenery in the country, that is perfectly acceptable as well.

Italian food lovers should head to Frasca Food & Wine. The modern and minimalist décor make it perfect for putting your attention on the food. Riff’s Urban Fare continually gets the best reviews in the city for it's great atmosphere and inventive menu choices. The Kitchen is everything that is good about the food scene in Boulder, and focuses on providing farm-to-table meals that have been sourced right from the local community. If you enjoy the experience of small-plate Tapas style dining, then you need to head to the Mediterranean Restaurant on Walnut Street. They draw inspiration from every country in the Mediterranean part of the world, and the results are impeccable.

Bars

Craft beer is immensely popular in Colorado, and there are nearly more pubs who brew their own beer than those who don't in Boulder. Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery is a good place to go and see what a craft brewery is all about, with great food and regular live music to add to the experience. Another brewpub with a well-regarded bluegrass musical series is Oskar Blues Grill & Brew. If you're more of a wine drinker you still have lots of great options in Boulder, including Frasca Food and Wine which has a cellar with more than 200 options stocked for it's customers.

Culture

The arts and culture are very important to the people of Boulder, and they do an excellent job of supporting community cultural institutions like the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. Boulder also has a thriving theatre community, which includes Boulder’s Dinner Theatre. The company specializes in putting on Broadway-quality musicals that are perfect for family outings. There are museums of all shapes and sizes in Boulder. The Boulder History Museum can tell you all about the highlights throughout the history of the region. The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art hosts one of the best modern art collections in the region, and yet manages to keep admission to a single dollar for anyone who wants to visit.

Events

Certainly one of the most prestigious annual events is the Colorado Shakespeare Festival that takes place each summer. More than half a century old, it is regarded as one of the best summer Shakespeare festivals in the country. Memorial Day weekend brings runners from across the country Boulder, as the Bolder Boulder 10K race takes place. For a more relaxed event, you should visit the Boulder Creek Festival. The banks of Boulder Creek become lined with artists, artisans, food vendors and performers during a weekend in May each year. The closing of the festival is marked with the always popular Rubber Duck race.

Shopping

Downtown Boulder has an absolute smorgasbord of shopping options for you to enjoy. Best of all, the vast majority of the shops are contained within a very small area. This makes it the perfect venue for taking a stroll and enjoying the day while window-shopping past everything from high-end boutiques to second hand stores. Pearl Street in particular is not to be missed, as it features a pedestrian walkway that makes it the perfect venue to shop by foot. Twenty Ninth Street is an open air shopping complex that features Nordstrom Rack and a Macy’s as anchor stores.

Sports

Local sports are mostly restricted to the college teams. The Colorado Buffaloes play out of Colorado University. The athletics program is quite strong. The football team is an NCAA Division 1 team that currently competes in the Pacific 12. While there is no professional sports team in Boulder currently, most of the city strongly supports the professional teams housed in Denver. Usually, there are several bus trips that head to Denver with a large load of people anytime one of the pro teams that make their home in that city play. Support for the Colorado Rockies is especially strong.
