As classes wind down on most college campuses, it’s time for college graduates and students who are headed home for the summer to think about housing options for the upcoming year. Maybe a new job for a graduate means a cross-country move to a city in close proximity to a new campus. Perhaps students made new friends on campus this year, meaning a bigger apartment and off campus living is the next move.
Either way, everyone wants the best deal possible, regardless of what campus they live near. But if living near campus is a priority, then it’s important to understand where you get the best bang for your buck.
With that in mind, we wanted to uncover the most expensive off campus rent prices in each state to see how they compare throughout the country. We analyzed data from more than 1,000,000 rentals across the nation within 5-10 miles of a college campus or university. We then ranked the most expensive campus to live near in each state. Here are the results.
