So your team was in the NCAA tournament, and by now, they’ve lost. That is, unless you live in Philadelphia, Syracuse, Norman or Chapel Hill. But you might also have some odd ties to the final four teams — Villanova, Syracuse, Oklahoma and North Carolina — so that could work also. The time has come, and the final four is upon us, meaning that you’ve probably seen more than your fair share of brackets throughout the madness of March.
So we figured we’d get in on the action and help predict the Final Four — the only way we know how. Since we’re in the business of helping renters find apartments all across the nation, what better way to predict the outcome of basketball games than by using rent rates on the various Final Four team campuses?
We also took a look at this year’s NCAA Tournament participants and ranked them from most expensive campus to least. Turns out the tournament would have looked quite different if rent rates, rather than on-court performance, had determined the bracket.
But before you see the rankings, we’ll help you predict the winner of this year’s National Championship.
If winners were determined by rent on campus, here’s what would happen.
Saturday, 5:09 PM CT – No. 2 Villanova vs. No. 2 Oklahoma
In this matchup, Villanova takes out Oklahoma with relative ease. The final rent score for this matchup: Villanova $932 – Oklahoma $579.
Saturday, 7:49 PM CT – No. 10 Syracuse vs. No. 1 North Carolina
In the second matchup of the night, this year’s Cinderella, Syracuse, is sent home packing by top-seeded North Carolina. Final rent score: North Carolina $916 – Syracuse $702. Good run ‘Cuse, good run.
Monday, 8:18 PM CT – No. 2 Villanova vs. No. 1 North Carolina
In this heavyweight battle of Philadelphia vs. Chapel Hill, Villanova captures the National (Rent) Championship and proves once again that the east coast boasts some of the highest rental rates across the country.

Thankfully, we don’t actually know the winner of the NCAA Tournament and we still have a couple more games to watch. What we do know, however, is that rent rates vary throughout the country and the coasts remain the priciest.
