Pittsburgh has developed from a largely industrial city to being a center of creativity and culture in recent decades. It’s often ranked as one of the most livable cities in the U.S. and is home to renowned universities, like University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon. If you’re a student — or a fan of frequent visits to the Monongahela River or Schenley Park, which holds the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens — you’re probably familiar with Oakland, a charming student-oriented neighborhood. Both major universities are located entirely or in part in Oakland, meaning residents there get the benefit of living just blocks from the Carnegie Art Museum, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and the musical and theater performances of both schools. If you’re a renter — and especially if you’re a student — here are some great Oakland, Pittsburgh, apartments.
