Food is mediocre. Not the worst I've ever had, but definitely not the best either. Their burgers really need seasoning. I know that can be kind of tricky, as it is extremely hard to please everybody. What is considered "seasoned" to some people is salty to others. I get it! It's just that my fiance' and I would have really enjoyed our burgers more if there had been something there. We even ordered two different burgers so we could share to see which one we liked best, but again, two different burgers same blah taste. On the other hand, to be fair, we enjoyed their fried ravioli and fried pickles. Kind of pricey for burgers and fries though!

On Tap was a great lunch spot to watch college football. My recommendation would be they add prices to their draft list, as you can easily order a $10 beer on accident! Waitress was really nice and accommodating.

Waitress was good but the kitchen seemed to be having issues. The food did not all come at the same time. We got the main items but had to wait several minutes for onion rings, fries and extra sauce. The food was good when we got it.

Went here about a year ago for a business trip for lunch. Definitely one of those "can't believe I ate the whole thing" places. The southern nachos were original and fantastic. Loves the chips.

I liked it. 20oz Snakehandlers, great burgers and wraps. Pretty waitress and bartender too.

Wow, it has changed. My first issue was the horrible bright lighting. Then, several beers were either flat, metallic, or out all together. The food was fine I guess. Our server was very sweet but obviously under poor management. I remember coming here 5 years ago and it being packed and fun!

We come for the sports and nachos. I like coming here for a chill day of watching sports. It's usually pretty quiet in here, but I'm sure that will change once football is back in session. However, it was nice to catch a b-ball game and playoff hockey. I've only had the wings and the nachos. The wings were better than most places, and I got the mixed special recipe that's got a rub on them. The nachos are what usually bring us here. The ol' lady and can't usually finish them between us, so they are a steal and they really know how to load them up. Chicken, jalapenos, chili, white queso, I'm forgetting some things I'm sure. Sine it's usually not too crowded the service is usually attentive, but can sometimes be lackadaisical. It's about the best sports bar in the area when it comes to viewing options, but there are no pay per views.

Food is really good, great beer selection but be ready to pay a lot for your favorite craft.

Great on busy days, however, on slow days you could wait for at least half an hour for your food.

I met up with some friends tonight and had dinner on the patio. The atmosphere was nice, but the TV was a little too loud to allow for easy conversation. The food was good (Cobb salad and tots) and the service was fine, but a little slow. Overall, a nice experience. I'd eat here again.

Has good beer but I got food at mellow mushroom and wanted to drink a beer at the table in front, the bartender from on tap came over and said I can't drink my beer in front of mellow mushroom. Because a customers configurability is less important than looking like we bought our beer at mellow mushroom. C'mon.

nice little place. good hostesses, drinks, atmosphere. not 5 stars because the police sit outside waiting to pull people over when they leave. pay em off.

kind of tired of the female bartender "attitude". as if i'm doing her a favor by showing and spending my money. very marginal. doing the minimal. will look for another place where i feel more comfortable.

There was a Hooters near our hotel that we frequented entirely too often simply because it was the only drinking establishment. I've come to accept the little battered and fried wings that places like Hooters and BW3's serve only because there's not too many places that take the time to make them correctly (and when you're covering them with sauce that's so hot that you can feel it moving through your intestine, who cares how the chicken tastes?). Despite this, I still have plenty of respect for those places who can do good by this classic piece of bar food, and it was with this in mind that I visited On Tap. Is it noteworthy for a sports bar to have a significant number of televisions, because there were seriously quite a few coming at me from all directions. What is definitely noteworthy is the beer selection, featuring a significant number of good beers on tap and available in the cooler. It's a standard for how I choose my favorite bars, and in that respect On Tap succeeds well. Of course, you can't have a respectable beer selection without knowing what you're talking about with regards to the food, and the bar does that well, too, offering freshly-made bar staples like burgers, pizzas, and wings, the latter of which have been praised as the best in the city by Birmingham Weekly. I wanted to give them a try. But not before an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. The sour tang of the fruit was pretty good, but they were notably greasy, and that's diasppointing given that the bar is the mecca of all things fried. Could've been worse, I suppose. Like any reputable wing place, there's several varieties of flavors. Normally, I know what I'm getting into when I order Hooter's "nuclear" or BW3's "blazin," but when the hottest flavor is called "ghost" - likely from the ghost peppers used and ones which I do not wish to put in my mouth lest I ruin the remainder of my day and most of tomorrow, too - I had to play it safe and go with the third hottest option, "scorcher", and while I could have certainly handled more capsaicin, the wings were actually quite spicy thanks to the large presence of black pepper. Thanks to my tongue not being numb, I was able to enjoy the flavor of the wing, too. From the homemade condiments to the beer selection and the good eats, there's plenty to like about On Tap. The experience wasn't perfect - service was a little slow and it would be nice to see the bar expand beyond its bar food foundation, but in the mean time I'll certainly have a more viable option for beer and wings than what's offered at the chains.
