Personally, I didnt mind these apartments. It's a great convenient location, with all the stores you need within walking distance. The management is great, we never had problems with them. The maintenance was also great, they would come in that day or the next. And Emily is also a FANTASIC person, shes very happy, understanding, very helpful and always smiling. So many people complain about her, but neither my fiance or I have ever had a problem with her at all. The only suckish part about the place is its flooded three times while we were there for two years, we lived in the basement. But that is probably because it's an old building and if it gets backed up, you take the worst of it due to being on the bottom floor. And there isnt a super lot of storage space, but for the price it's great. These are so much better than places in Toledo so I give it a five stars.

Roaches persisted even after they hired exterminators whom didn't seen to do anything. Apartment wasn't in good condition when we moved in and our neighbors were either having loud sex or stomping around. The heat never seemed to be on which forced us to use the oven to warm up. Washers and dryers were frequently out of order and you had to use a terrible app if you didn't want to use cash. Walls and carpets in the halls were always dirty and generally stunk. Phone and ethernet jacks to the apartment didn't work. Fiber internet was great. Ample unassigned parking. Trash pickup was frequent. Squeaky floors. Inconsistent water temperature. Water was randomly shut off without much notice. First few months the power would brown out without any obvious reason. Rainwater leaks from around wall AC. Very pretty friendly, take that as you will. Doors are weak and is likely due to how spring loaded they causing it to be loud as well. Close to groceries, entertainment, and colleges.

So I absolutely love my time here, it's quite and a nice neighborhood. The maintenance team is responsive and so is the security should you have any issues. Parking is free and open so that is perfect for families with multiple cars. With there pet policy I can't imagine living anywhere else. I hope to stay as long as I can and complete my undergrad and masters while living here.

It is everything you should expect out of a lower class apartment. I have lived in a lot of places, and for this location, and for the price, it's very nice. with all apartments, you should NEVER expect perfection. There can be noisy neighbors, kids, and unresponsiveness to fixing things. The area is clean, kid friendly, very diverse. The location is great, especially for emergencies. Of course, being close to ypsi, you should have your street smarts in handy, and keep your car, and apartment, locked. The police, firetrucks, ambulances are all VERY quick to come here, in a matter of minutes, from what I've experienced. As for the front desk, it seems a lot of these responses complain about Emily. I've never had a problem with her, she knows my name and welcomes me warmly. However I can understand that she is a bit loud with her voice, but I don't try to judge too much. The other people at the desk are very nice as well. Overall I enjoy this place. It could be better, but it could also be MUCH worse.

6 months of living at the Evergreen Apartments, great bunch of people work there. Quiet building, clean apt and location. Easy access to transportation and stores about 1 mile away. Only thing I wish they had was, a gym. If you own a dog or a cat, this is where you go to live.

Evergreen is not terrible but its very basic. It depends on your building and apartment. The first apartment we got was terrible, run down and ugly. We couldn't see it before moving in so we didn't know. But we quickly complained and moved into an updated apartment which was much better. Our building is fairly quiet. Laundry room went back to coins instead of cards which I greatly appreciate. Grounds are very well kept. Pool is clean. Ground floor sucks because people let their dogs poop by your window. Parking is bad if you get off work late, you will be parking far from your building. It's not the lowest quality of apartments around but it isn't special. Fair for the cost of rent.

I have lived here for many years. I never had an issue with the Management or the maintenance people. My neighbors are great. If I need something fixed in my apartment, I will call maintenance and leave them a voicemail and email Chad who will always get back with me within an hour or two...and tell me when the maintenance people will come and fix anything that I need to get fixed. Charlotte and Meaghan (@Management) are doing a great a job. I have had many interactions with them over the years; and I have found them to be respectful, nice, and fair. I see some negative comments about issues in some buildings; and I am not denying that people will see some things that they don't like in their building. Personally, when I see a bag of potato chip or a pop bottle on my hallway, I will take it in my apartment and put it in my trash container or put it in the dumpster if I am heading out. I will not leave a trash that a loser or a kid left behind, and come here write a negative comment. I think that we all should take care of some minor issues that we see in our buildings or call the office so that they send someone who will do it. They are not God. They can't tell or see everything that is wrong in all buildings at all times if we don't let them know. Once, I saw a hallway light cover hanging by one side for more than a week in front of one of my neighbors' apartment unit; when I understood that the person who lives by that urgent issue didn't bother to inform the office, I told Meaghan about it in person and it was fixed shortly after that. We live in the buildings; we have to be part of the solution. We have to resolve some issues ourselves for the benefit of everyone in the community and we have to communicate more with the management, too. If everyone who is upset enough to write a negative review...communicated more with the office people in person as I do...or by email on the record...and removed a piece of paper on their hallway once in a while, things will be way better at Evergreen. The Price is great! Now, we have to work together with the management and our neighbors to make everything else great. And if they don't work with us, then we can come here and shame them...and give negative reviews and ratings. But as long as we are not participating in the improvement of things that need to be better, we should hesitate about writing bad reviews. Con: Not happy about the Gate Issue (the cameras should be an addition to the overall security of the community...on top of the Gate being there). Not happy about Miss Joyce (Gate Person) being let go...She was Evergreen. I missed being welcomed at home every evening. And she probably deterred the wrong characters from coming to Evergreen. She was friendly and knew everyone who lived here by name. I Hope that the Gate will be brought back one day and Miss Joyce...that everyone loved...will be back, too. Advice to Management: Keep up the good work! And Encourage tenants to communicate with management about issues that they see in their buildings and homes...by writing a letter to everyone and letting them know about the communication channels that are available to everyone who needs to say something when they see something.

A lot of these negative reviews don't match up to staying here or are outdated reviews. Currently living here (and have been for about 7 months) and honestly this place is pretty solid. Little pricey for a 1-bedroom apartment, but the staff are always friendly and helpful. Any time I've needed to have something fixed (once a shower water pressure issue, once my garbage disposal) they are on top of it and have fixed it either that day or the day after.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. Utilities were affordable however I was gone the majority of the day during the week and some weekends. However when I moved out is when they stopped doing the cap on the heat bill. The apartment was a nice size. I really appreciated the walk in closet. Maintenance always responded promptly. The staff was always very friendly. Some of the residents are ghetto but I never had any issues with them. I also appreciated the buzzers to open the door. The gated community is nice although sometimes during the gated hours, there is no attendant at the booth. It is located by many businesses and also not too far from both Michigan's and Eastern's campus. Also, you can pay your rent online. My only complaints would be the laundry facility could use some upgrading. Also, sometimes you had to jimmy the locks on the front doors, which could potentially put your safety at risk.

This place is very nice. But keep in mind they are apartments. You're going to have issues you have in every apartment. For me I have extremely loud upstairs neighbors. Also the cabinetry is pretty cheap. But overall I think this place is great. I feel very safe with the gates well guarded at night. And even though there are tons of neighbors with dogs the grounds are almost completely poop free. But perhaps the best thing is the price. I'm currently paying 800 dollars a month for my 2 bedroom. That's including all utilities. And maintenance is very responsive. I've had two major issues so far. One, my fridge motor decided to crap out. The next day Maintenance was rolling in a brand new fridge. The other was the landscaping crew caused a rock to go into my window and shatter the outer panel. The window was still intact because it didn't get through all layers of glass but the outer panel had a gaping hole in it. Within a few days I had a new window. The location is pretty awesome as well. It isn't downtown Ann Arbor but you'd be paying 3 times the amount for that location. Instead we are pretty close to Meijer, Target, Home Depot and other useful stores. I'm also just a short bike ride away from downtown Ypsi or downtown Ann Arbor and both have great restaurants for when I'm not feeling like cooking. I think if you go into this place expecting it to be what it is: Cheap apartments, you'll come out happy to live here. Because let me tell you, as far as cheap apartments go... you could do so much worse!

i would not recommend living here for ANYONE. the manager is a thief, nazi. You have to share the waterbilll with the entire apartment building including the laundry room. which by itself, sucks-never gets the clothes clean and you have to pay to do laundry there on a laundry card. (seems like i am paying twice...) also you can only put money on your card during office hours and that becomes a problem, often. you also share the heat with the entire building (including the hallway) and there are 1 inch gaps under the outside doors from the hallway so apparently you are heating outside as well. they add random fees to your rent ($5 administrative fee) for no reason or warning. i know it is common to raise rent every lease agreement but i do not agree with being punished for being a continuing resident. and it is by 100 dollars but then offer 100 dollars less to new residents...the pet fees are outrageous. the maintenance is good however there is never any parking due to the fact no one will restripe the parking lot and people park like they are from mars. AVOID MCKINLEY PROPERTIES in general!!!!! and they own a lot of property in ann arbor but they are all the same. P.S. the apartments in front that you are shown (the models for new residents) are very nice but the apartments available are usually in the back and are poor and neglected
